In news widely known among their clients, Elders Euroa has announced it will be moving its farm supplies and services shopfront and warehouse to a new location by year’s end.
To mark the announcement, Elders branch manager Glen Coridas has welcomed the installation of a new large, red door handle at the premises on the corner of Beaton and Scott Streets.
Mr Coridas said the expansion was the result of the farm supplies side of the dual-entity business outgrowing its current premises on Binney Street while the real estate half continued to grow.
“Our real estate team has expanded, so it needs to keep a presence in the main street, and Brendan (Allen) and the team have it humming along nicely there,” Mr Coridas said.
“The new site gives us an opportunity to grow into it.”
Public safety was also key to the decision.
“Loading and unloading of trucks on Kirkland Avenue (at rear of shop) is a risk to safety and is an important part of our reason to move – to respect the safety of our staff and the public in general.”
Mr Coridas said renovating was not an option to the business as the storage area at the back of the Binney Street location was fast running out of room.
He also said the move was an opportunity to grow and develop Elders' client base, potentially employ more staff, and service the district better.
He said the working relationship with the new landlord was as good as that with their Binney Street landlord.
The timing of the move may well be fortuitous with Inland Rail’s schedule.
“The access is not great at the moment given the works going on right now, but eventually the site will have great drive-through access for customers and delivery trucks as well.
“This will be done safely on site as opposed to in the street.”
A grand opening is being planned.
