THE Euroa Music Festival has finally announced its line up for its inaugural event at the Euroa Memorial Oval on March 27, with some internationally renowned artists set to perform at Memorial Oval.
The festival will feature 12 Australian artists with the Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever headlining the event.
The band, who have in the past played the Coachella festival, recently released their second album and will kick off their next tour of Australia at the Euroa festival.
Festival organiser Adam Palmer said his was pleased to secure the band for the event and said the line-up showed the diversity in local talent.
“Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever is a major highlight among other bands that I'm really excited to have play is Mildlife, who just released their second album as well during COVID,” Mr Palmer said.
“They're doing a bunch of shows that the Myer Music Bowl soon and will be coming up to support their record as well.”
Mr Palmer said the eagerness of many bands who got in contact with the organisers wanting to play at the event was a good sign for regional musical events after the COVID lockdown.
He said it was not only important for music lovers in the region, but also for those local artists who haven’t been able to play for much of last year.
“There's been a lot of stuff cancelled and, we're just wanting to push on and create a COVID safe festival in the expansive area of the Memorial Oval,” Mr Palmer said.
“Overall, I just think it's important to have something to look forward to after such a hard year for everyone, and to be able to host an event like this in Euroa, I think will be very special.
“All the artists are so super clean as well to play in front of crowds I’m sure as well.”
Other acts set to play at the Memorial Oval include Ainslie Wells, Donny Benet, funk outfit Vaudeville Smash, Jaguar Jonze, The Fauves, Jack Davies & The Bush Chooks, Freya Josephine Hollick, Merpire, Pinch Points and Budjerah.
“From the other artists, I’m excited to see Jeff Davies, and The Bush Chooks will be coming over from Fremantle - I saw these guys at Bigsound in Brisbane which is like the music showcase for all artists in Australia, the band are just an amazing artist on the way up,” Mr Palmer said.
“Also Donny Benet is an outstanding album which was last year was nominated for album of the year at the ARIA’s.
“He’s an outstanding musician who has toured globally and his live shows are something else.”
