LONGWOOD and Locksley residents have vented their frustrated over a decision made last week to have giant superloads holding concrete pieces trucked through their towns at a slow pace.
The trucks which will be travelling from Benalla to Melbourne as part of the West Gate Tunnel Project, will carry 160 tonne loads and are thought to be driven through the towns five times a week over the next two years.
It is planned that these superloads will leave the Hume Freeway at the southbound Longwood exit and travel along the Longwood Avenel Road before re-joining the Freeway via Alexandersons Road at Locksley.
