AFTER kicking off the season at home last week when all teams played at Euroa, the courts were empty this week with every team playing away.

It was a round of mixed results for the traveling teams with three wins and four defeats.

Longwood Lawn was on the winning side of the ledger this week against Benalla Lawn.

Molly Redfern was a stand-out, winning all three matches to help her side get over the line in a tight contest.

The final score was 61-54.

Strathbogie continued its winning form from last week with a victory over Moglonemby.

A couple of very one-side rubbers meant Marlene Hanrahan’s side went down 48 to 61, despite winning four rubbers.

Michael Nolan had a great day to win all three of his matches.

It was also a tough day for Gooram which went down 45-67 to Benalla Lawn Green.

Bob Furphy worked hard all day to keep his side in the mix, winning two rubbers with Josh Higgins and Dan Flack and being pipped at the post in a tie-breaker with Gayle Furphy.

Terip Terip got back on the winners' list after toppling Euroa Lawn by the slimmest of margins.

Marja Wondergem had a sensational afternoon and conceded only four games to keep her side in it but it wasn’t quite enough with Terip Terip winning 51-50.

Reigning champions St Paul's kept its season track with a win over Gardens Gold.

Again, best and fairest winner Sarah Ternes played her heart out to win all three rubbers, as did Rosie Cameron.

The final score was 59-54.

In division two St Paul’s went down in a heart-breakingly close contest with Violet Town.

Lisa Krepp’s one-sided rubbers proved crucial to keep the reigning champions in the contest but it wasn’t quite enough with St Paul’s going down 55-56.

Longwood Lawn notched up its first win for the season over Gardens Royal with the ladies having a strong afternoon at Benalla.

Maddie Andrews and Erin Durkin both won all three rubbers.

The final score was 61-51.

While, Avenel White, strengthened by a number of former section one players, is firming as the team to beat after a strong win over the ultra-consistent Swanpool.

Murray Lowis and Jackie Drayton both won all their matches.

The final score was 63-49.
