St John’s Primary School – Swimming sports
THE St John's Primary School conducted their swimming trials on Monday, February 8.
It was a great day for all the students with some of them nervous after not having had the opportunity to compete for quite some time but they tried very hard and swam very well.
The school had run their swimming program towards the end of 2020 and also many students had taken part in Vic Swim during the holidays and others had had additional tuition with the Euroa Swim Squad.
It was evident that there were noticeable improvements with many of these students.
Some students had been impacted by Covid as some lessons were cancelled and it has certainly been a cooler summer so, for some, there was a small drop in skill and fitness overall.
All in all, everyone had an enjoyable day with many students excelling in the pool.
Kadey Macklin is back to avenge her regional win.
She wasn't able to compete in the state swimming last year, due to Covid cancelling the event, but she has her fingers crossed with an aim to compete at a higher level his year.
Many of the girls had some really fast times with even the year threes, who were competing for the first time, performed very well.
