THE Ruffy Adult Riding Club Inc. hosted their first Official Dressage Jackpot Day on Sunday, September 24, at the picturesque Ruffy Recreation Reserve.
With the sun casting a warm glow and the rustling of old oak trees providing a serene ambiance, the event proved to be an ideal introduction for both new riders and young horses.
The day commenced with a delightful morning cupper, expertly prepared by the kitchen crew, for the judges and participants.
As the judging kicked off, the oval quickly filled with the graceful movements of horses and their skilled riders, displaying the culmination of hard work and dedication.
Lunchtime brought a spread of country-style delights, featuring a fabulous barbecue, delectable slices, and classic scones with jam and cream, much to the delight of all attendees.
By 4.30pm, the last of the riders were gracefully completing their tests, leading to the eagerly awaited announcement of final scores and the subsequent prize presentations. The winners were awarded an array of prizes, with the jackpot winners receiving generous vouchers from Saddleworld Shepparton.
Jackpot Winners:
Advanced - Tracey Savage on Boots An All.
Level 1 - Pamela Kennedy on NP Prince Harry.
Level 2 - Janelle Stevenson on JSS Oliver Twist.
Level 3 - Sharon Smith on Wedgetail Asher.
Level 4 - Imogen O'Brien on Colonial Creek Linq.
Level 5 - Liza Grage-Perry on Mayfield Regina.
The organisers expressed their gratitude to the sponsors, including Horseland Shepparton, Saddleworld Shepparton,
The Odd Jug (Ruffy), 4UP Skilling (Euroa), Namparra Leigh (Ruffy), and AIRR (Euroa Horse & Pet). Special recognition was also extended to Sally Mizzi and Gwyn Lindsay for their valuable feedback, and to Jodi from Mane and Grain Photography for capturing the essence of the day in remarkable photographs.
The club extended heartfelt appreciation to all the riders for their enthusiastic participation and support during the event, with hopes of welcoming them back for the Official Show scheduled on February 4.
Plans for future dressage competitions are already underway, including the incorporation of additional arenas to accommodate more entries.
Finally, the committee members were acknowledged for their tireless efforts in the preparation and smooth execution of the day's festivities.
Without their dedication and hard work, the success of the event would not have been possible.
The Ruffy Adult Riding Club Inc Committee is already looking forward to the next event, anticipating another successful day of equestrian camaraderie and competition.
