EUROA LADIES GOLF

By EMILY FRAVEL

Wednesday was Stableford and eight ladies took to the course.

The sponsor for the day was Burtons Stores and the winner was Lorraine Ellis with a solid 33 points.

Close behind was Robin Lied with 31 points.

Lorraine also took nearest to the pin on the 18th (sponsored by Burtons Stores) and both drive and pitches on the fifth (sponsored by Trotters Mitre 10) and 15th (sponsored by Levenia Redfern).

The nearest to the pins on the eighth (sponsored by Evans Accounting) and the 12th (sponsored by May Hamilton) were retained by the club.

Unfortunately, due to the cold and rainy conditions, there was no golf played on Saturday.

However, thank you to Burtons Stores, who sponsored the day.

Thank you to our loyal sponsors who continue to support our club, no matter the weather.

NAGAMBIE GOLF CLUB

By DAVID LOVE

In the lead-up to Sunday’s Stableford event, 30mm of rain had fallen on what was already a heavy track.

But as usual, the Nagambie course handled the wet conditions well, with good natural run off.

Players were met with mostly favourable weather, interrupted only by two very light showers that lasted only minutes.

Steve Donnison was the winning golfer, doing a sterling job to play to handicap and post 36 points.

With the course playing long and offering no assistance around the greens, it was a good day’s work.

Runner up, also posting a solid score in the conditions, was Jeremy Ezard with 35 points.

It was a good hit out for Ezard leading into the start of the club championships next week.

Third place went to Phil Hageman, definitely one to watch in the coming weeks as the championship progresses.

Hageman returned 32 points in the hard going.

Nearest the pin prizes were awarded to Jeremy Ezard, cracking one up to the third.

Shane McCormick, who claimed the 13th on his return; and David Love, who flighted a crisp strike onto the 16th.

Next week’s golf is the first round of the 2025 club championships, which will run for three consecutive weeks.

On office duty will be J. Ezard, and in the bar, C. Roberts.
