It began in Lake Boga, where his exceptional talent quickly became evident, culminating in a staggering 140-goal season at the tender age of 16.

This remarkable feat caught the attention of Collingwood Football Club, leading to his senior VFL debut in 1956.

Despite the unfortunate setback of a broken leg, O’Bree’s impact on the game.

Returning to Euroa, O’Bree etched his name into the annals of football history.

Playing a pivotal role in securing back-to-back Premierships in 1957/58 under Coach Bob Bosustow.

His unforgettable record-breaking 17.2 goal performance in a single match further solidified his status as a legend of the game.

O’Bree’s journey extended beyond the field, transitioning seamlessly into coaching.

His tenure as both Senior and Reserves Coach at Euroa FC marked the beginning of an era of dominance.

Over nine years, Euroa enjoyed unprecedented success, clinching seven Senior Premierships under O’Bree’s guidance.

Beyond his coaching prowess, O’Bree’s contributions to Euroa Football Club as President and his remarkable career statistics – including a total of 1285 goals in senior football, 901 goals representing the Magpies.

The celebration of his life will take place at the Euroa football ground on Friday, February 2, 2024, commencing at 11am, followed by a private cremation.
