JUNIOR FOOTBALL

UNDER 10s AND 12s

Our Junior under 10s and 12s finished off the Gala and Lightning Premiership days yesterday, with both teams playing four games of football.

The under 10s got to showcase the skills they have developed this year under coaches Tim and Rayan in front of a big crowd, with the kids enjoying a fun day.

Meanwhile, the under 12s displayed great teamwork and skill as they completed each game.

UNDER 14s

What a confidence-building win to end the home and away season.

We travelled to Yea on a cold wintery day, confident we would get a good win, and the kids more than exceeded our expectations.

With a consistent four goals and two behinds in each quarter, and Yea only managing two goals and two points for the day, our young Magpies took out a solid win.

William Roob and Harry Bennett managed to sneak in their first goals for the season, while Darby Hoare bagged six, despite recovering from an ankle injury.

Alex Burton worked hard all day, while Max Anderson’s confidence levels and participation elevated throughout the game.

Levi Berry was dynamic, working hard through the centre and forward line, and Jock Macdermid stepped up from his usual position in the backline to be active in the forward line, getting his fair share of the leather.

Blake Trotter and Ty Fielden worked well together in the ruck, and overall the kids worked well as a team.

We hope they can play as well together next week as we take on Shepparton Swans on Sunday in Mooroopna at 10am in the elimination final.

Go Pies.
