ON Saturday, August 14, 20 riders from the Seymour Boradford Cycling Club tackled the very fast 47km Mitchelton/Northwood Rd course.
Rene Mol was the limit man off 25 minutes.
The quicksilver Kilmore pair of Brodie Sims and Joel Green were the scratch men.
The 16 minute group provided plenty of resistance to the chasing 12 min and 8 min packs.
These three groups were all together at the 40k mark.
The two min group of six held off the scratchies by 40 seconds but neither of these groups could reel in the leading bunch with Glenn Christensen (8mins) taking the win with an average of 38.7 km/h, Andy Garrett (8mins) 2nd, Jeff Hibberd (16mins) 3rd, James Hender (8mins) 4th, Victor Nash (8mins) 5th and Peter Cooper (12mins) 6th.
Joel Green claimed fastest time of 1.07.55 at an average of 41.4 km/h.
It was nice to see Cooper back after a lengthy spell due to injury, thankfully he completed the day all bones intact.
Thanks to Teddy, Heather, the two Jeff’s and Burgess Signs for helping the club do their thing.
Next Saturday, August 21, is the big loop small loop course at Glenaroua CFA (44km).
Please enter on the team app before 8pm Friday night and be signed in by 1pm for a 1.30 start on the day.
