THE annual event of 'Ride the Ranges' returned for the 12th time on Sunday, April 18.

The Rotary Club of Euroa and riders were excited that this event had returned after no event in 2020.

Riders from all over Victoria plus a number from NSW and one from ACT were amongst the 151 who registered.

The event commenced and finished at the Sevens Creek Park and it is recognised more as a personal endurance test and a social event.

There are three courses available of varying difficulty: 30kms (Euroa, Sheans Creek, Balmattum, Euroa), 85kms (Euroa, Miepoll, Violet Town, Kithbrook, Creek Junction, Strathbogie, Euroa) and 130kms (Euroa, Miepoll, Violet Town, Kithbrook, Creek Junction, Strathbogie, Euroa).

Most members of the local Rotary club were involved with either registration, at the start/finish, at refreshment stops and as directional and safety marshals.

When the riders finally made it to the finish, they were nourished by a barbeque provided by the Rotary club.

This is a major fundraiser for the Euroa Rotary club for community projects and the event also draws visitors to the town so it is hoped that local businesses also benefitted.

As always, the club has received very positive feedback on the organisation of the event, the scenery and the welcoming attitudes of the locals.
