IMAGINE doing something that you like and benefiting community by raising at the same time?
Avenel Active secretary John Hyland and Bob Gardner from Bob's Belts in Avenel have done it.
They cycled 900km in Bicycle South Australia's, Outback Odyssey Ride, raising money to benefit Nagambie Healthcare.
“We thought this ride it was an opportunity to leverage charity for Nagambie Healthcare as it is the closest health provider for Avenel residents,” Mr Hyland said.
“Nagambie Healthcare is a good organisation which does very good job, they needed some equipment and we thought that we should help them along.”
Go Nagambie has been helping the duo by supporting the blog they wrote during the ride.
Mr Hyland and Mr Gardner have raised just about $6000 on their $45,000 goal.
All funds raised will support the provision of high quality, accessible health and aged care services that best meet the health needs of the community including lifting equipment, patient specialised furniture, and upgrading of the urgent care room.
