ON May 15, some 16 hardy souls took on our longest time trial circuit in cold and blustery conditions.

Overall, the times obtained were excellent.

With three riders in C grade, five in B grade and a very competitive eight in A grade the numbers were pleasing.

The ever improving Bret Wessels smoked the course in 59 minutes, 40 seconds, (36.0kph) to take C grade, (his time would have taken B), 2nd was Hibberd 1.06.22 and 3rd was Bender 1.07.33.

Victor Nash cleaned up in B grade in 1.00.40, (35.4kph), with Baker 2nd in 1.01.15, and Rilen 3rd 1.06.00.

The mercurial Alan Adams blitzed the A grade with the fastest time of the day in 49m 55s, (43.1kph), setting a new course record.

Second place to S Kirby in 53m 47s and 3rd to M Thomson in 54m 23s.

Next Saturday they journey out to Glenaroua Fire Station to tackle the 45k Sugarloaf/Schoolhouse loops for a 2pm start.

Thanks go Jeff Madex, Bluedog, Teddy and Heather Kirby and little Harry for their support this week and the Burgess family for the rooms.
