The Euroa Bowls Club wrapped up preparations for the 2025/26 season with a practice match against East Shepparton on Saturday.

We had 44 bowlers participate in what could be best described as difficult conditions given the combination of wind and the slick synthetic surface, however it was an excellent and much needed hit out as we are playing for points from now on.

The Division one rinks also trialed live scoring via the Bowlslink App and whilst there are a few things that we need to address it is here to stay and we need to move with the times.

The good news is it will only be used in Division one Pennant this year.

Midweek Pennant commences with both Divisions one and three away to Shepp Golf and Division four travelling to Hill Top to tackle the Tatura Hill Top combination.

Meet at the Clubrooms for an 8.45am departure.

In the opening round of Weekend Pennant Division one hosts Shepp Park, Division three returns to East Shepp whilst Division five makes the trek to Colbinabbin.

Members are reminded to add your name to the list on the noticeboard if you are unavailable for any rounds of pennant and we wish all bowlers the best and trust they enjoy their bowls and represent our Club and Town with pride.

Wednesday Social Bowls will continue if we get sufficient interest and all bowlers are encouraged to get down to the green for practice and training.

Coach Bill Taylor is on hand most evenings and has rinks set up for drills on Thursday.

The draw is out for both the Men’s and Ladies Singles and Pairs events so check out who your opponent is and arrange your opening round matches.

The word on the street is that deadlines will be enforced this year.

On Friday Night we will have a BBQ at the club, hopefully a raffle and the first draws in the Nifty Fifty so make sure you come along and enjoy the fun.
