The Nationals Members for Euroa, Annabelle Cleeland, has thanked the Victoria police members for their ongoing duties and reminded all that Monday September 29 marked National Police Remembrance Day, which coincided with Blue Ribbon Day - a time to pause and honor the dedicated police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

"This day carries a heavy weight for our wider regional community following the tragic passing of Detective Leading Senior Constable Neal Thompson and Senior Constable Vadim de Waart-Hottart.

"Their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten," Ms Cleeland said.

Across Victoria, services were held to honor the courage and commitment of our police, including a ceremony at Seymour Police Station on the morning of the 29th.

"I want to take this opportunity to thank all the police officers across our region who work tirelessly to keep our communities safe," she said.

"Their daily commitment to protecting Victorians deserves our respect, gratitude, and recognition.

"On this Blue Ribbon Day, we stand together to honor the memory of those who have fallen and to express our deepest thanks to those who continue to serve."
