Euroa residents can be assured that the Euroa railway station project is on track to be completed by the end of 2026, and now have their chance to see the final impressions as planned by Inland Rail.

Visualisation of the modern new station has been revealed this week in 3D computerised, realistic layouts for locals to view.

Inland Rail’s Scott Anderson is the project’s acting delivery director for the Victorian leg of the project and said the final visualisations highlighted an ‘incredible transformation’ that will take place in Euroa now that demolition and preliminary works have been completed.

He said Euroa residents had played an important role in project’s design and development.

“We’ve worked closely with the community over many years, and their important contributions are included in the final design,” Mr Anderson said.

“We understand some community members are disappointed by the removal of the old Frost Street underpass, but the project includes two new modern, bright and accessible underpasses with ramps, lifts, and stairs to make it safer for travellers and pedestrians.

“We would like to thank the community for their patience and cooperation as we carry out the exciting upgrade of the station precinct.”

The designs show a modern new station and underpass for vehicles that will give Euroa an historical transformation of the station and surrounds.

A tree-filled forecourt will welcome passengers alighting trains as an opening into the centre of town.

There will be a new platform, carparks, two accessible pedestrian underpasses, and green spaces.

The purpose of the massive project along the entire railway route is to provide sufficient clearance for double-stacked freight trains, lowering both the cost of freight and its carbon footprint.
