A MAJOR change in one of Euroa's busiest intersections has caught locals off guard over the weekend as Inland Rail made detour preparations after the closure of Anderson Street bridge in readiness for its demolition.
The give way conditions where Brock Street and Anderson Street intersect have changed for drivers heading in both directions, with those coming from the railway bridge in a southeast direction on Anderson Street now meeting a stop sign in order to give way to the right from Brock Street which now has right-of-way right-hand turn onto Anderson Street.
Resident Jim Shovelton contacted the The Euroa Gazette to say the new changes had caught him off guard on Saturday morning.
"The conditions have quite changed there and we had to really stop and notice it," Mr Shovelton said.
"I think it is dangerous at the moment.
"It's an accident waiting to happen."
The change is part of Inland Rail's management of traffic conditions in Euroa to reduce vehicles going into the section of Anderson Street which leads to the bridge.
