Several Euroa sporting clubs have received funding through the latest State Government Sporting Club Grants Program, with more than $1 million allocated across Victoria.
Acting Minister for Community Sport Gayle Tierney last week confirmed the new round of grants.
In total, 827 grants were awarded to clubs across the state, including:
Euroa Basketball Association Incorporated – Strathbogie Shire Council Basketball; fitness/physical activity initiative
Euroa Junior Soccer Club Inc – Strathbogie Shire Council Football (Soccer)
Euroa Pistol Club Incorporated – Strathbogie Shire Council Pistol
Euroa Pony Club Association Inc – Strathbogie Shire Council Pony Club
Euroa Junior Soccer Club Inc – Strathbogie Shire Council Football (Soccer)
The program provides funding for equipment, uniforms, volunteer training and new programs.
Other recipients included the Wangaratta Golf Club, which will receive $4,000 to run a six-week program to encourage women’s participation in golf.
Since 2014, the Sporting Club Grants Program has distributed more than $19.5 million to sport and recreation clubs across Victoria.
The program is supported by the Regional Community Sport Development Fund, which also funds infrastructure upgrades and related initiatives such as the Regional Community Sport Infrastructure Fund.
The State Budget 2025/26 also includes $15 million to continue the $200 Get Active Kids Vouchers for another two years.
