Fire crews and police were called to a torched car Thursday morning at 5:30am at Balmattum.
Locals reported hearing a double explosion before reporting the engulfed utility on Wilbrahams Rd to authorities.
The ground surrounding the car had evidence of 'donuts' having been driven into it.
One neighbour reported to The Euroa Gazette that he had heard the explosion from his home 10km away.
Another neighbour Chris Smith posted on Facebook their gratitude to police and fire crews.
"(It) was a shock waking up to multiple explosions and flames in the gravel yard," the post said.
"But so much better when the red and blue lights were really quick to get there and put it out."
Investigations are ongoing.
