YEAR 12 graduates around the Strathbogie region celebrated yet another milestone yesterday after receiving first round university offers in their chosen courses.
One of those students was FCJ Benalla student Ayden Cullen who was offered his his first choice of a Bachelor of Arts degree at LaTrobe University's Bendigo campus.
“A Bachelor of arts appealed to me particularly for it allowed me to go into a course that is a passion of mine, that being a major in politics.” Ayden said.
"My general expectation from university is to be able to pursue my dream goal of becoming a journalist specialising in political discourse."
He said his regarding the waiting period between receiving his ATAR results were slightly worrying, but he is glad he achieved his goal for tertiary study.
"It felt incredibly strange, as the stress of not knowing your atar dissipates, the anxiety of knowing whether you are going to receive an offer for University takes over," Ayden said.
A Euroa local, Ayden was keen to keep himself regionally based in Bendigo "especially because it is much easier to go from a a town size of around 3000, to a city size of 100,000."
"This is just in juxtaposition to a city size of millions," he said.
