Strathbogie Shire Council is inviting community members to help shape the future of four of the shire's outdoor swimming pools at Euroa, Violet Town, Nagambie, and Avenel.
These much-loved facilities are more than just places to swim—they support recreation, fitness, social connection, and community events.
However, maintaining and upgrading them requires careful planning and significant investment.
Mayor Claire Ewart-Kennedy said the local pools attracted over 18,000 visitors during the 2024/25 season.
“Our pools are valued social spaces where people connect, families spend quality time, and the community embraces active living," Cr Ewart-Kennedy said.
"As we plan for the future, it’s important we hear directly from the community to ensure these spaces continue to reflect the needs and aspirations of those who use them.”
Residents who are either regular swimmers, attend community events, or simply appreciate the role the spaces play in communities will help guide decisions on:
• Pool programs and services
• Facility upgrades and accessibility
• User fees
• Operating hours and seasonal use
• Long-term planning
Council wants to know: Why do you use the pool? What do you value most? What do you envision for the future?
Have your say:
• Online at www.share.strathbogie.vic.gov.au
• In person by visiting the Euroa or Nagambie Customer Service Centres
The survey is now open and will close on 7 November 2025.
In addition to the survey, council invites interested community members and key stakeholders to attend a round table discussion on Thursday 13 November 2025 at 4pm, at the Euroa Community Conference Centre, 1B Bury Street.
This session will offer a welcoming space to share your perspectives, ask questions, and contribute meaningfully to the future planning of Strathbogie Shire’s aquatic facilities.
RSVP’s are encouraged and can be made at www.share.strathbogie.vic.gov.au or by calling 1800 065 993.
