STRATHBOGIE artist Anna Mackrell is currently celebrating an exhibition of her works in the Benalla Art Gallery.

The exhibition, which runs until Monday, 9 June is entitled A Well Structured Nature and features landscapes and floral works that are inspired by the Strathbogie Ranges.

Key concepts and elements seen in Anna’s works include place and belonging, mood, colour, and tone.

Audiences are invited to gain a deeper understanding of the exhibition through a workshop with the artist on Saturday, 17 May.

Anna describes herself as an eccentric, figurative artist nestled into the ranges where she says the terrain is as varied as it is captivating.

“I never tire of being up here, it’s always different and beautiful,” Anna said.

“It’s hard not to feel a sense of wonder and awe when I look out into the landscape.”

“You get a real sense of the expansiveness of this ancient place.”

Anna also offers to paint works on commission on almost any matter, but she likes to make some inroads first.

“Get to know me, my background, and what art means to me.”
