BEECHWORTH'S Helen McIntosh has been recognised for outstanding voluntary service to the Beechworth community with her appointment to the Order of Australia announced in this year's Australia Day Honours awards where she will receive a medal of the order (OAM).

"I'm very happy and honoured to be awarded an OAM but it's surreal to recei
