Have your pet blessed

On Saturday 11 October at St Dunstan’s Anglican Church, Violet Town (12.30pm) and on Sunday 112 October at St Paul’s Anglican Church, Euroa (9.15am) bring along your favorite animal and have him or her blessed.

All over the world the feast of St Francis is celebrated in October and it’s customary that in remembrance of St Francis of Assisi’s love for all creatures, animals are led to the churches for a special ceremony called “Blessing of the Animals”.

Priest-in-charge, Rev Richard Pennington said, “Animals are a great blessing to us all and those who have pets love them, provide for them and care for their needs. Their presence often helps us get through trying times so let’s celebrate together.”

The invitation isn’t limited to man’s best friend. All pets are welcome including horses, sheep, rabbits, chickens and even fish.
