A man hunt is continuing in the Porepunkah area Wednesday morning for the suspect who fatally shot two police officers and injured another when they were executing a warrant at his rural property on Rayner Track around 10.30am on Tuesday morning.
Police have confirmed the whereabouts of the suspect's family, with his partner and children attending a police station on Tuesday evening.
A police spokesperson said there is nothing to suggest they were ever in the company of the suspect following Tuesday’s incident.
Members of the public in and around Porepunkah are being asked to remain indoors, and people asked not to travel to the area until further notice.
Police from the Special Operations Group and Critical Incident Response Team, along with detectives from the Armed Crime Squad and Fugitive Squad and investigating detectives from the Homicide Squad remain on scene.
Police said the suspect remains armed and at large and a significant search is continuing.
