Police have closed off the Hume Freeway in both directions at Baddaginnie while 10 fire trucks and emergency vehicles attend to a truck fire at about 2:30pm today.

Early reports have described Hazmat officers at the scene to determine possible drinking water contamination from the truck's cargo.

Drivers are advised to make alternative plans.
