REPORTS are coming in about an earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale at 9.16am on Wednesday.
Earthquakes at Geoscience Australia reports the Epicentre of the quake was between Mansfield and Rawson in Victoria.
The exact location of the Epicentre is being reported to be 125km ENE of Melbourne and 39km South of Mount Buller, with a depth of 10km.
The Longitude of the Epicentre was 146.32 and Latitude was -37.42.
One of the crosses off St Patrick's Church in Wangaratta fell off the roof along with several ornaments and tiles at the rear of the building cracked.
Father Nathan Verallo told the Chronicle that the church is closed until a building structural assessment is carried out by authorities and he is looking into holding services in an outdoors setting at a location yet to be determined.
