RESIDENTS in the Strathbogie Shire are being encouraged to apply for a grant of up to $5000 as part of council's 2022/23 Community Grants Program.
The program will open on Wednesday, June 1 and will be open for the month, eventually closing on Thursday, June 30.
Grants will be available under five different categories in order to encourage as many projects and community ideas as possible.
The five grant categories are: active and healthy communities, arts and culture, environment and sustainability, facilities and infrastructure, and small projects.
Mayor Laura Binks said the grants were a great way for organisations to invigorate their ideas and bring them to fruition.
"Whether it is a small request for grant funding or a larger request which is supported by other contributions, our Community Grant Program provides a great opportunity to achieve inspiring projects in any one of the categories listed," she said.
Cr Binks extended an invitation to potential applicants to attend either an online or face–to–face workshop.
"Council will host two workshops to guide community members on how to prepare a grant application and answer any questions regarding the application process along with guidance on project suitability," she said.
The workshops will present the same content but offer two opportunities for community members to attend.
The online session will be held on Wednesday, May 11 from 5.30–6.30pm via https://tinyurl.com/mr2cm8eh.
The in–person session will be on Wednesday, May 25 from 5.30–6.30pm at the council offices on Binney Street, Euroa.
