THE Violet Town Football Netball Club hosted Merrigum at home on Saturday with a mixed bag of results.

Violet Town 19.10.124 defeated Merrigum 9.11.65

VT Goals: Robert Staff 7, Chris McKay 3, Samuel Poole 2, Sean Horsburgh 2, Jake Cowman 1, Lochlan Morrison 1, Christopher Bamford 1, Ashley Hobbs 1, Mason Vearing 1; VT Best: Nate Trotter, Corey Robins, Mason Vearing, Robert Staff, Lochlan Morrison, John Woodcock

VIOLET Town was looking to get back on the winner’s list after a disappointing game against Stanhope the previous week.

The boys started strongly kicking the first five goals of the match while holding Merrigum to one goal for the quarter.

Goal kicking was a strong point in the first half, with VT booting 12 goals to two to put them in a very strong lead.

This was on the back of some great team defence.
