EUROA continued on its winning way on the weekend with a 16 points victory over Mansfield to stay in fourth place, after round five, of the Goulbutrn Valley Football League season.

Starting the match very well, the senior Magpie outfit stamped their authority on the contest right from the first bounce.
Nathan Gilliland was in scintillating form as was the ever-reliable Marcus Varley, who is enjoying his best year of senior football to date.

Quality ball delivery from the likes of Rohan Bail, Jacob Gleeson and Andrew Bell allowed the multi-pronged attack of the Magpie side to expose their high country counterparts.

The Magpies kicked three goals from their six scoring shots in the last quarter with Jarmyn Tremellen, Will McFarlane and JD himself all booting two gaols a piece throughout the afternoon – none more important than the goals scored late in the game.

This result leaves the Magpies with a 4-1 win loss record from the first five matches this year and with an unbeaten reserve grade team firing on all cylinders, coupled with some good wins from the under 18 team, things are looking quite positive early in the season.

Next week the club heads over to Tatura to take on a resurgent Bulldogs outfit – go Pies.
