THE Strathbogie Golf Club last week received a visit from Royal Melbourne Golf Club greenkeepers with machinery to prepare the course for summer.

President David Kennett said that Golf Victoria were keen to help smaller rural clubs through partnerships with Melbourne golfing clubs.

“We were contacted by Richard Forsyth the superintendent at Royal Melbourne,” he said.

David said that Mr Forsyth came and visited Strathbogie’s course and was very complimentary of it.

“He was especially impressed by the quality of the greens, the high level of challenge presented by the course, and that such a magnificent course presentation was achieved by totally volunteer labour from our club members,” he said.

The club discussed ways with Mr Forsyth to improve the hard surface underneath the greens.
