Gilliland to play, but not coach next season

EUROA Football Netball Club is looking for a new senior football coach.

Addressing his players after their elimination final loss to Kyabram on Sunday, playing-coach Nathan Gilliland (above) said he would be stepping down as coach.

He is, however, remaining a Magpie and will continue to play next year.

Gilliland, nominated for the Goulburn Murray Coaches Association (GMCA) Coach of the Year for the Goulburn Valley Football League (GVFL), said his last two years of coaching had been a big journey for the group.

“We went from winning five games last year to nine this year,” he said.

“We played finals footy this year and we’re really proud of that as a group.
