ON a very heavy ground at Memorial Oval the senior Magpies were looking to make amends for their draw with Shepparton United a month ago.

The game started very well with both sides determined to get first use of the ball.

Clever play from the likes of Andrew Bell, Nick Snowdon and Brett Zorzi allowed the home side to give their forwards first use of the football.

This resulted in some scoreboard pressure but in quick time the United attack responded accordingly in what was a very even first half.

The third quarter was when the Euroa outfit began to click as big John Ikupu dominated the stoppages around the ground with his second and third efforts at getting his hands on the ball a hallmark of his game.

Brett Zorzi continued his great work from down back in the first half with a shift to the midfield that was proving to be a game winner.
