Works to bolster Nagambie township

NEW LOOK: Revitalisation works are commencing in the Nagambie Main Street. The project will begin with the construction of a southern roundabout at the Goulburn and High streets intersection.

REVITALISATION to Nagambie’s main street has started with preliminary works taking place for the construction of the southern roundabout at the Goulburn and High streets intersection.

The Strathbogie Shire is conducting the initial stages of the proposed main street works with funding received from the former State Government.

The Nagambie Streetscape Project has been in development over the past seven years and council said it hopes it will significantly modernise the main street.

Nagambie Action Group chairperson, Kimm Kennedy, said the revitalisation works are essential for the growth of the town.

“The construction of this roundabout will hopefully be the start of the town coming to life,” she said.

Ms Kennedy said after the change of government last year, state funding for some of the revitalisation works had been lost, which had been a setback.
