EUROA Magpies booted their way to a comfortable 38 point win over Shepparton Bears on the weekend and are sitting in third position coming into the second half of the season.

The boys are set to take on fifth placed Shepparton Swans this weekend in a match that playing coach Nathan Gilliland said is very important, given the ‘evenly balanced’ ladder positioning.

“They’ve got good forwards like Justin Madden,” Gilliand said yesterday, already well into the planning for the away match.

“We’ll have Adam Tarrant on him who is one of the best full backs in the competition.”

Gilliland said that the team’s focus has been taking the season week by week and maintaining consistency over all four quarters.

“We’ve had a few lapses which have cost us some wins so we really need to stick to our game plan,” he said.
