Towners hit a purple patch

THE Violet Town senior footballers have had five consecutive wins in a row, but last weekend’s win over Lancaster was the sweetest.

Each week the Towners have been gaining momentum but knew Lancaster was going to be true testimony of how well they were travelling.

Both teams had a six win to two loss ratio going into the weekend’s game.

However, most of Lanky’s scalps had come from the top half of the ladder, while the Towners’ victories had come from the other half.

The fact that Lanky had gone down to Stanhope the week before gave the Town boys a new found confidence that they could possibly bring it up to the Wombats on match day.
Against the odds and the punters the Towners did just that.
