Runners qualify for regionals

READY, SET, GO: Julia Finnigan and Charlotte Morris preparing for the start among their age group.

STUDENTS from Euroa Secondary College competed at the southern ranges cross country in Yea on Tuesday last week.

Mr Schultz and Mrs Mackrell accompanied the 40 competing students to the Yea golf course and racecourse on an ideal day for running.

The cross country was postponed from the previous Tuesday which meant that years’ 10 and 11 were not able to participate as it was exam week.

However, we had good numbers of keen runners in the 13, 14 and 15 year divisions.

Student Mahony Fothergill took her last opportunity to compete in a secondary college sporting event in the 20 year girls division.

Runners started on the racecourse and then headed into the golf course, where they were faced with a couple of challenging hill climbs before finishing with a lap of the racecourse.
