Euroa dominates A grade

WELL-POSITIONED: B grade player Caitlyn Elliott (left), readies to pass to Marnie Burton in the goal circle, watched by Emma Morphet (WD).

IN lovely conditions for netball last Saturday afternoon, the Euroa netballers travelled to Deakin Reserve to take on the highly fancied Shepparton United, in what was overall a very successful day for the Euroa girls.

A Grade

In a dominant display, the Euroa A grade girls put on their best performance of the year so far to dominate their Shepparton United opponents.

In what was touted as the ‘Match of the Round’ as fourth-placed Euroa took on fifth-placed United, our girls came out firing and never looked back.

In a tense opening stanza which saw many turnover opportunities created by both teams early in the term, it was Euroa who were able to steady sooner, and take a two-goal lead into quarter time, despite a few nerves under the post.

The second quarter was all Euroa, as the girls began to exert their dominance and settle into the match.

Sarah Hosking was lively for the Magpies at wing attack, dominating centre-pass receives and off-loading some remarkable feeds into goalers Maddie Morrison and Teagan Kohn, who began to convert accurately and effortlessly.
