Group creating a link in the shire

A COMMUNITY reference group formed by the Shire of Strathbogie has held its second meeting to discuss the region’s most pressing issues.

The Strathbogie Shire Sustainable Development Reference Group is made up of representatives from community, economic and environmental groups throughout the shire.

Groups represented include the Victorian Farmers Federation, Business Enterprise Euroa (BEE), the Environment Protection Authority (EPA), a number of landcare groups and shire councillors and staff.

Shire resident Andrew Dunning was asked to join the committee and represent his group BEE.

Mr Dunning said the first two meetings were very positive with all members keen to communicate with the shire the wishes of their particular group.

“It’s going to be a really effective link to the community and great way of relaying information to and from residents,” he said.
