Special event: ‘Past Players Day’ at the Euroa Football Netball Club

PAST PLAYERS DAY: Previous members of Euroa Football Netball Club enjoyed reconnecting on Saturday including Gavin Williams (left), Mick Hill, Dick O’Bree, Kevin Storer and Don Mills.

LAST Saturday a special event was held at the Memorial Oval, during Euroa’s match against Rochester.

This day was dedicated to encouraging any past players who had played with or been involved with Euroa to return to these hallowed grounds and to reconnect with their past.

Gavin Williams was the organiser of this event and he was very pleased with the turn out on the day.

Quite a number of players from a number of different teams travelled from near and far to meet up with friends from the past.

Players returned from as far away as Queensland, NSW and from right around Victoria.

Club stalwarts from the fifties such as Ray McLaine, Les Reed, Nev Walters, Ray Petrie, Rod Ferguson and Dick O’Bree enjoyed catching up with one another.

Gavin hopes that this event will grow each year and eventually be a permanent part of the Euroa football fixture.
