EUROA Primary School (EPS) students enjoyed a Jump Off at school on Monday as part of their inaugural Heart Foundation fundraiser.

Jump Rope for Heart has been a fundraising event for the Heart Foundation for over 30 years, with participation from both primary and secondary school students.

EPS physical education teacher and Jump Rope for Heart coordinator Ian Clinch said this was the first year the school has been involved.

“The children started skipping with basic skills about a month ago,” he said.

While there was an intent to raise money, Mr Clinch said there was also a focus on fitness and developing physical skills.

It was also a way of raising awareness amongst children and adults about the risks from heart disease.
