FOR the last four years, Strathbogie Shire Council has been represented at the Regional Living Expo in Melbourne, showcasing what the region has to offer.

The recent 2015 expo, particularly, was a great success for the Strathbogie Shire with over 10,000 people going to the expo.

But next year it may not even happen, after the State Government handed down its 2015-16 Budget, which revealed a 100 per cent cut last week.

According to the budget paper, the ‘performance measure is proposed to be discontinued as previous budgets did not allocate funding to the program beyond June 2015’.

Strathbogie Shire chief executive officer Steve Crawcour said the expo had been extremely beneficial for council and there was a positive return of investment.
