ORGANISERS are dubbing this year’s Euroa-Strathbogie Relay for Life a success, with teams and participants raising in excess of $64,000 towards the Cancer Council.

With 20 teams walking lap after lap from 6pm Friday until noon on Saturday, as well as hundreds of other participants, outgoing event chair Andrea Penman is pleased that despite low numbers, that amount was still raised.

“The tally will be raised over the next four weeks because there is still money that needs to be banked, but this year’s relay was absolutely awesome,” she said.

“The committee and I can’t even begin to thank everybody for their support.

“Thanks must go to all the local musicians, particularly Gayle Mawson who kept the crowd entertained, the Rotary Club of Euroa and especially the volunteers who all helped on the day.”

Relay team ‘A Walk to Remember’ raised the most money, finishing with over $13,000.
