Easter offers lots of sweet delights

Plenty to do in the shire over the Easter holidays

THE Easter Bunny won’t be the only highlight during the school holidays with activities around the Strathbogie Shire including canoe polo championships, a talent quest and community markets.

The waters of Lake Nagambie will be alive with the thwack of canoe polo balls as the regatta centre plays host to both the 2015 Australian and Oceania championships between April 4-11.

For those looking to embrace calmer waters, a tour on Mitchelton’s Goulburn Explorer may be more their style with both day and sunset cruises over the Easter period.

If that’s not enough, then there is the art of being a tourist in your own back yard and taking the road less travelled.

Places of interest include Nagambie’s Black Caviar statue, Euroa’s Victoria Cross statues, Violet Town’s re-dedicated Avenue of Honour, Strathbogie’s bush walking trails and Avenel’s Red Kelly grave.
