Hockey – a game for all ages, abilities and interests

Chris Chittick

REPRESENTATIVE HOCKEY: Angus Murray (left) and Lucy Broughton have enjoyed the challenge of playing at a higher level.

EUROA Hockey Club has a long and successful history and membership that is drawn from right across the Shire of Strathbogie and beyond, both of which the club is very proud.

This club not only provides opportunities for players of all abilities and ages, but also encourages and assists members with the development and strengthening of playing, coaching, umpiring and administration skills.

While Euroa Hockey Club members often have to leave the area, and club, for further education and work, it is very inspiring to hear that many are not only still playing but are also involved in coaching, umpiring, selecting and administering this lifelong game at club, regional, state and national levels.

Not a bad effort for a club that generally only has access to a turf field and goals on match days.

New members are always welcome in any capacity.

As are returning members – ‘Once a Euroa Member Always a Euroa Member’.
