THE Euroa B grade boys travelled to Chapman Oval in Shepparton for their two day clash against Old Students needing a strong result to consolidate their spot in the top six ahead of the finals.

A passing shower meant the commencement of play was delayed for half an hour, and when play finally got under way the removal of the covers presented the team with a green and somewhat underprepared surface to play on.

Euroa won the toss and elected to bat, however, batting was not easy.

The softness of the pitch was causing the ball to hold up and made it very hard to time the ball for the batsmen.

It was not easy going for openers Sean Templeton and Travis Stefanos, however, they equipped themselves well during the opening half hour, despite not scoring as freely as they would have liked.

After Templeton was dismissed, Tom Burke (18) came to the crease and executed another mature innings with Stefanos to see off the new ball until Stefanos was dismissed unluckily after doing the hard work and batting for near an hour and a half.
