Longwood breaks the ice

LONGWOOD Lawn hosted top team Avenel and were looking to get their first win of the season.

Avenel ladies were able to win their three sets, but the Longwood men were able to make up some ground winning two of their three sets played, going into the mixed sets only three games down.

Longwood won the opening two mixed to hold a four game lead and number one pair Scott Meehan and Chris Ellis got the required games to ensure a two game win.

Longwood winning four sets 59 games to Avenel five sets 57 games.

An even team contribution from Longwood, as no player won all three of their sets.

Gooram Lawn also played at home to Molyullah and had a comfortable win only dropping one set.
