THE Victorian Labor Party has promised to fund the second stage of the Euroa Saleyards development if it wins power in this month’s state election.

Shadow Minister for Regional and Rural Development Jacinta Allen announced a Labor Government would pick up the tab for stage two of the project.

Ms Allen was in the North East of the state to launch Labor’s agriculture policy with Labor leader Daniel Andrews.

She said the saleyards was a good example of where Labor wanted to invest because it provided jobs to country people.

“This announcement of $500,000 towards the saleyards gives you a really strong indication of where an Andrews Labor Government would take rural Victoria into the future,” Ms Allen said.

“Like many country communities, you have aspirations for the future and there’s always a stage two on the drawing board,” she said.
