Hockey players’ massive success

North East Knights play at the state champs

AS reported last week a number of Strathbogie Shire residents had a huge week of hockey, playing for the North East Knights at the Junior State Championships while most of the GVHA had a break for the holidays.

Grace Arnold came home from her week in Melbourne as a member of the under 15 girls state champion team.

Not only did they win their grand final, they also remained undefeated for the entire tournament.

A nil all draw against the Sharks in their first game was followed by a 2-1 win over the Hotshots on day one.

The next day the played a 2-0 game to defeat the Flames and they finished with another 2-0 win against the Flames.

In their crossover semi- finals on Thursday they had a 2-0 win over the Red Devils and followed this with a 1-0 win over the Wildcats.
